Web3 & Distributed Infrastructure
QWASP does not use Web3 as hype or as an objective in itself. It evaluates and applies Web3 and distributed technologies where they demonstrably improve resilience, distributed storage, traceability, cryptographic assurance, vendor independence, data sovereignty and digital trust.
Secure data & distributed storage: Storj
Research / integration in evaluation Storj is intended to form part of QWASP's distributed data and storage resilience strategy, as a shared foundation across business lines. Potential uses include object storage, backup resilience and distributed storage for approved workloads.
Not every QWASP dataset is stored on Storj. Whether a given workload actually uses Storj depends on its own data classification, legal basis, access-control design, encryption and key-management design, retention policy, backup/recovery requirements, and (where relevant) a GDPR/ privacy assessment. Where those steps are complete, a workload may use Storj as part of its architecture; where they are not, this remains a target or research direction rather than a current fact.
Why this matters to governance
QWASP anticipates further development in distributed infrastructure and applies such technologies where governance and operational value justify them, not before. Web3 and distributed storage are shared foundations available to any business line; they are not a fifth business line in their own right.
